On the previous weekend the owner of So restaurant Mr. Hama and Natsuki had spent two days harvesting rare and prestigious white truffle in Alba, Piemonte Italy. With the seasonal white truffle directly brought back from Alba, Museum of Sake had set up exciting Sake dinner themed around "Ukiyo", floating world.

Each course was inspired by the waka poems of Hyakunin Isshu, the card game of 100 selected poems by 100 famous poets back in around 1100s. Participants were trying to find 4 matching cards of begging poems and ending poems, which will lead into the course dish and matching sake.

Soレストランのオーナー浜さんと先週末に北イタリア、ピエモンテ州のアルバに今が旬の白トリュフの収穫へ伺ってきました。
そこで採れた白トリュフを現地価格で原価で提供するという豪華なディナー、今回はMuseum of Sakeとして日本酒に合わせてイベントコーディネートをさせて頂きました。
「浮世」Floating worldをテーマに、各コースに合った百人一首の四句を、葛飾北斎の「百人一首姥かゑとき」のカードと共に上の句と下の句を合わせて頂くゲームも用意し、西洋の媚薬白トリュフと、東洋の媚薬日本酒に大いに酔っていただく夕べとなったことを願っています。
